Privacy Notice
Last updated 2 August 2026 · Lebanese Legal
A short statement of what personal data Lebanese Legal holds about you, why, for how long, and the rights you have over it. The full privacy policy carries the detail; this notice is the summary of your rights.
1. Who is responsible
Lebanese Legal is the controller of the personal data described here. It operates lebaneselegal.com and the application behind sign-in. Questions and requests go via the contact page at /support.
2. Data categories
Account data: your email address and sign-in records. Passwords are handled by the sign-in provider and never stored by Lebanese Legal.
Content you save: saved searches and bookmarked provisions, visible to you and deletable by you.
Server logs: IP address, request path and timestamp, kept briefly for security and debugging. The legal texts themselves are public law, not personal data.
3. Purposes
The data is used to run the service: to keep your saved searches and bookmarks against your account and to secure the site. What you read or search is not used to build a profile of you, is not sold, and is not shared with advertisers — a deliberate choice, since legal searches can reveal a person's situation.
4. Retention
Saved content is held until you delete it or close your account; closing the account removes the account record and everything saved under it. Server logs are rotated on a short schedule.
5. Your rights
You can ask for access to the personal data held about you, for correction of anything inaccurate, for erasure, for restriction of processing, for a portable copy, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. For users in the UK or EU these are the rights granted by the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR; the same treatment is extended to all users wherever they are.
Requests are answered within one month. UK and EU users also have the right to complain to their supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.
6. Processors
A sign-in provider handles authentication and a transactional email provider delivers account email; infrastructure, object storage and CDN providers host the service and its backups. Each processes personal data only on Lebanese Legal's instruction and for no purpose of its own.
7. Contact
To exercise any of these rights, or to ask what data is held about you, use the contact page at /support. Identity is confirmed only to the extent needed to be sure the request comes from the account holder. The full privacy policy on this site carries the complete description of the processing.
